18 Future Financial Professionals Attend ELEVATE

Ladenburg Thalmann and its five independent advisory and brokerage firm subsidiaries sponsored Link to the Future (LTTF) at the January Ladenburg ELEVATE Advisory Symposium in Nashville, Tennessee.

The LTTF program provides scholarships to enable university students who are majoring in business and interested in finance to attend the conference and gain knowledge from experienced financial professionals and industry leaders.

Conferences and networking events are great places to gather insight into our industry, to explore different career paths within financial services and to see what working as a financial services professional really looks like,” said Janine Wertheim, president of Securities America Advisors and senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Securities America, Inc.

Students from the conference area and daughters and sons of advisors from Securities America, Triad Advisors, Securities Service Network, Investacorp and KMS Financial Services were encouraged to apply.

Thirty-eight applications were received, and 18 young men and women headed to Nashville for two days of educational sessions, panel discussions, individual resume consultations and an exclusive look at the financial services industry.

On the first day of the conference, LTTF attendees heard from Jennifer Suiter, a recruiting consultant with Securities America, on resume and interview best practices and from Amy Rehn, MSOL, BFA™, senior vice president, Advisory Services with Triad Advisors, on a variety of career options available in our industry. They also attended a panel discussion with financial professionals and representatives from product sponsor companies who shared their journeys into the financial industry.

The second day started with a standing-room-only educational session about the digitization of advisory tools from Dan Sachar, vice president of Enterprise Innovation and head of Ladenburg Innovation Lab at Ladenburg Thalmann, and Bryan Di Iorio, marketing associate at Ladenburg Thalmann Asset Management. To close out the program, Link to the Future committee members led a debriefing session where attendees discussed the event, shared things they learned and identified next steps they could take toward becoming a future financial profesional.

Other program highlights included meet-and-greet sessions with event exhibitors, 30-minute individual resume consultations and the pairing of LTTF participants with tenured financial professionals.
